5G van T-Mobile biedt beste dekking volgens de mobiele netwerktest

Het mobiele netwerk van T-Mobile komt vandaag voor de vijfde keer op rij als beste uit de nationale mobiele netwerktest van umlaut. Vanmorgen publiceerde umlaut de resultaten van haar grootschalige onafhankelijke onderzoek naar de prestaties van Nederlandse mobiele netwerken. Naast een 4G-netwerk van wereldklasse, bouwt T-Mobile een 5G-netwerk van uitmuntende kwaliteit dat met afstand de best geteste dekking heeft volgens umlaut. Sinds oktober van dit jaar is het 5G-netwerk van T-Mobile landelijk dekkend. Niet alleen is het netwerk van T-Mobile het meest bekroonde netwerk van Nederland, maar met de verwerking van meer dan 50% van het Nederlandse mobiele dataverkeer is het ook het meest gebruikte netwerk van Nederland op dit gebied. T-Mobile is trots dat zoveel consumenten en bedrijven gebruikmaken van het best geteste mobiele netwerk.

Met een score van 962 uit 1000 punten, behaalt T-Mobile dit jaar wederom de hoogste score van alle operators in de umlaut test in Nederland en is dit zelfs in 2020 de hoogste score wereldwijd.

Landelijk dekkend 5G-netwerk
Het 5G-netwerk van T-Mobile heeft volgens umlaut de beste dekking van Nederland. Het 5G-netwerk van de telecomprovider had gemeten over alle categorieën samen (steden, dorpen, wegen en treinsporen) de beste 5G dekking. Sinds oktober biedt T-Mobile landelijke 5G-dekking. Dit betekent dat tenminste 90% van de inwoners van Nederland in het 5G-dekkingsgebied van T-Mobile woont. De benodigde capaciteit komt voort uit de frequenties die in juli 2020 tijdens de multibandveiling zijn verkregen. Nog geen drie maanden na de lancering van het 5G netwerk, kwam T-Mobile hiermee de bij de fusie met Tele2 gedane belofte na om voor het einde van 2020 5G landelijk te introduceren.

De markt blijven uitdagen
Het netwerk van T-Mobile heeft de mobile benchmark testen van umlaut (voorheen P3) sinds 2016 maar liefst vijf keer op rij gewonnen en blijft daarmee het meest bekroonde mobiele netwerk van Nederland. Nu het mobiele netwerk van T-Mobile staat als een huis, werkt de provider er hard aan om hetzelfde voor elkaar te krijgen voor haar vaste netwerk. Søren Abildgaard: “Ook thuis willen we iedereen in Nederland toegang geven tot een netwerk van topkwaliteit. Nu we de mobiele markt veroverd hebben, willen we ook de markt voor vast internet uitdagen en openbreken. Daar zullen we de komende tijd dan ook zeker op blijven inzetten.”

T-Mobile wins umlaut test for fifth time in a row with highest score worldwide

The Hague, 8 December 2020 – Today, T-Mobile's mobile network comes out as the best in the national network test of umlaut, for the fifth time in a row. This morning umlaut published the results of its large-scale independent research into the performance of Dutch mobile networks. Next to a 4G network of world-class, T-Mobile is building a 5G-network of excellent quality that has by far the best tested coverage according to umlaut. Since October of this year, the 5G network of T-Mobile has nationwide coverage. Not only is the network of T-Mobile the most-awarded network of the Netherlands, but with the processing of more than 50% of the Dutch mobile data traffic it is also the most used network of the Netherlands in this area. T-Mobile is proud that so many customers and companies use the best mobile network.

With a score of 962 out of 1000 points, T-Mobile achieves this year again the highest score of all operators in the umlaut test in the Netherlands, and in 2020 this is even the highest score worldwide.

Nationwide 5G network
According to umlaut, T-Mobile's 5G network has the best coverage in the Netherlands. The 5G network of the telecom provider had the best 5G coverage across all categories (cities, villages, roads, and train tracks). Since October, T-Mobile offers nationwide 5G coverage. This means that at least 90% of the inhabitants of the Netherlands live in the 5G coverage area of T-Mobile. The required capacity comes from the frequencies obtained during the multi-band auction in July 2020. Less than three months after the launch of the 5G network, T-Mobile fulfilled the promise made at the merger with Tele2 to introduce 5G nationwide before the end of 2020.

Continue to challenge the market
T-Mobile's network has won the mobile benchmark tests of umlaut (formerly P3) no less than five times in a row since 2016. With that, it is the most awarded mobile network of the Netherlands. Now that T-Mobile's mobile network is strong and steady, the provider is working hard to achieve the same for its fixed network. Søren Abildgaard: "We want to give everyone in the Netherlands access to a top-quality network at home too. Now that we have conquered the mobile market, we also want to challenge and open up the market for fixed internet. We will certainly continue to focus on this in the coming period.”
