Overname van T-Mobile Nederland door Warburg Pincus en Apax Funds is afgerond

De overname van alle aandelen in T-Mobile door Warburg Pincus LLC ("Warburg Pincus") en Apax Funds, geadviseerd door Apax Partners LLP ("Apax"), is op 31 maart 2022 afgerond. In vervolg op de aankondiging op 7 september 2021 zullen T-Mobile Netherlands Holding B.V. en haar dochterondernemingen ("T-Mobile") nu onder nieuwe aandeelhouders hun volgende groeifase ingaan. Na afronding van de transactie wordt Olaf Swantee voorzitter van de Raad van Commissarissen van T-Mobile Nederland. Søren Abildgaard blijft de CEO van T-Mobile Nederland.  

Apax en Warburg Pincus zullen samenwerken met het directieteam en steunen de strategie van de organisatie waarbij ze zich blijven focussen op innovatie en groei van het indrukwekkende klantenbestand. Na de overname zal T-Mobile Nederland met haar vier merken - T-Mobile, Tele2, Ben en Simpel - actief blijven op de Nederlandse markt en de best mogelijke diensten aan haar klanten blijven leveren. De ambitie van T-Mobile Nederland is om betaalbaar glasvezel aan te bieden aan meer huishoudens in Nederland dan welke andere aanbieder dan ook in de markt, door toegang te geven tot de grootste glasvezel-footprint en een superieur mobiel netwerk in Nederland. 

Apax en Warburg Pincus hebben beide een sterke staat van dienst in de sector communicatiediensten en de bredere sector telecommunicatie, media en technologie en beschouwen T-Mobile Nederland als een organisatie met een sterke basis en verder groeipotentieel.

Acquisition of T-Mobile Netherlands by Warburg Pincus and Apax Funds finalised

The acquisition of all shares in T-Mobile by Warburg Pincus LLC (“Warburg Pincus”) and Funds advised by Apax Partners LLP (“Apax”) completed on 31st March 2022. Further to the announcement made on 7 September 2021, T-Mobile Netherlands Holding B.V. and its subsidiaries (“T-Mobile”) will now enter its next phase of growth under new ownership. At completion, Olaf Swantee will become Chairman of T-Mobile Netherland’s Supervisory Board. Søren Abildgaard will remain the CEO of T-Mobile Netherlands.

Apax and Warburg Pincus will partner with the management team and support the company’s strategy as it continues to focus on innovation and growing its already impressive customer base. Following the acquisition, T-Mobile Netherlands will remain active in the Dutch market with its four brands - T-Mobile, Tele2, Ben and Simpel - and will further continue its journey to provide the best possible services to its customers. T-Mobile's ambition is to offer affordable fiber to more households in the Netherlands than any other provider in the market by giving access to the largest fiber footprint and having a superior mobile network in the Netherlands.
