T-Mobile Nederland sluit zich aan bij Joint Audit Cooperation (JAC)

T-Mobile zet zich in voor een relevante en positieve maatschappelijke impact en wil bij dragen aan een betere wereld. De telecomprovider integreert Maatschappelijke Verantwoord Ondernemen (CSR)  daarom volledig in haar bedrijfsstrategie en bedrijfsvoering en zet zich in om de alle processen zo duurzaam en toekomstbestendig mogelijk in te richten. Daarbij neemt de telecomprovider ook haar verantwoordelijkheid in de hele waardeketen. De toetreding van T-Mobile tot de gerenommeerde Joint Audit Cooperation (JAC) is daarom een logische volgende stap. 

JAC is internationaal de toonaangevende vereniging van telecom operators, ook bestaande uit onderlinge concurrenten, die samenwerken om sustainability standaarden in de gehele supply chain te verbeteren. De vereniging richt zich op het verifiëren, beoordelen en ontwikkelen van CSR in de productiecentra van de belangrijkste multinationale ICT-leveranciers. T-Mobile heeft zich in juni 2022 aangesloten.

Iedereen in verbinding brengen
Als een van de grootste telecomproviders van Nederland vervult T-Mobile een belangrijke rol in de samenleving. De telecomprovider onderneemt zo duurzaam en verantwoord mogelijk. De missie ‘We won't stop until everyone is connected’, is daarom niet alleen een commerciële missie, maar ook een maatschappelijke missie. Alle sociaal maatschappelijke activiteiten en de impact daarvan zijn samengevat In het Connect to Change plan. Stefan de Wit, Director Procurement & Supply chain bij T-Mobile Nederland is blij met de aansluiting bij JAC: ‘’We pakken een actieve rol in de transitie naar een circulaire en klimaatvriendelijke economie. Zo willen we zelf vanaf 2025 energieneutraal zijn en onze CO2 footprint drastisch verminderen. Ondanks de sterke groei van ons netwerk, de grote groei van ons dataverkeer en de uitbreiding van het aantal winkels, lukt dat. We gebruiken bijvoorbeeld 100% groene stroom, 100% LED verlichting en 100% biologisch katoenen bedrijfskleding. Binnen T-Mobile werken we ook samen met leveranciers om nieuwe productie- en afvalstromen te minimaliseren. De toetreding binnen JAC is daarom een mooie vervolgstap.’’

Verduurzamen bedrijfsvoering 
De telecomprovider werkt hard aan het zo duurzaam en toekomstbestendig mogelijk inrichten van de processen. Ook neemt de telecomprovider haar verantwoordelijkheid op het gebied van CSR in de hele waardeketen, ook op de productlocaties. De aansluiting bij JAC is daarom een mooie aanvulling op het al bestaande CSR-programma van T-Mobile. ‘’Door de aansluiting bij JAC kunnen we bijdragen aan een gecoördineerde aanpak in de keten op het gebied van documenten due diligence, on-site audits en verbeterplannen. Het is een mooie stap richting het verder verduurzamen van onze eigen bedrijfsvoering. Met als uiteindelijk doel het gezamenlijk verbeteren van de sustainability standaarden voor de hele supply chain keten,’’ aldus de Wit.

Improving CSR standards for the entire supply chain

T-Mobile is committed to making a relevant and positive social impact and wants to contribute to a better world. The telecom provider therefore fully integrates Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into its business strategy and operations and is committed to making all its processes as sustainable and future-proof as possible. In addition, the telecom provider also takes its responsibility in the entire value chain. T-Mobile's entry into the renowned Joint Audit Cooperation (JAC) is a logical next step.

JAC is the internationally leading association of telecom operators, consisting of mutual competitors, who work together to improve sustainability standards throughout the supply chain. The association focuses on verifying, assessing and developing CSR in the production centres of the main, multinational ICT suppliers. T-Mobile joined in June 2022.

Connecting everyone
As one of the largest telecom providers in the Netherlands, T-Mobile plays an important role in society. The telecom provider operates as sustainably and responsibly as possible. The mission 'We won't stop until everyone is connected' is therefore not only a commercial mission, but also a social mission. All social activities and their impact are summarized in the Connect to Change plan. Stefan de Wit, Director Procurement & Supply chain at T-Mobile Netherlands is pleased with the affiliation with JAC: ''We are taking an active role in the transition to a circular and climate-friendly economy. For example, we want to be energy neutral from 2025 and drastically reduce our CO2 footprint. Despite the strong growth of our network, the significant growth in our data traffic and the expansion of the number of stores, we have succeeded. For example, we use 100% green energy, 100% LED lighting and 100% organic cotton workwear. Within T-Mobile we also work together with suppliers to minimize new production and waste flows. Joining JAC is therefore a great next step.”

Making business operations more sustainable
The telecom provider is working hard to make the processes as sustainable and future-proof as possible. The telecom provider also takes its responsibility for CSR throughout the value chain, including at product locations. The affiliation with JAC is therefore a good addition to T-Mobile's existing CSR program. “By joining JAC, we can contribute to a coordinated approach in the chain when it comes to document due diligence, on-site audits and improvement plans. It is a great step towards making our own business operations more sustainable. The ultimate goal is to jointly improve the sustainability standards for the entire supply chain,'' says de Wit.
